Allowances are shared across one business, not per team member. They cover eligible incoming and outgoing units and reset each subscription month without rollover, including on annual plans. The free trial includes message simulations only. Paid delivery requires separate activation and sender approval.
After the allowance
- Standard US SMS: $0.04 per segment, including standard carrier fees. High-cost routes require a separate quote.
- WhatsApp service-window messages: $0.02 per message when the message qualifies for the customer-service window and incurs no template-category fee.
- WhatsApp templates and international SMS: destination- and category-specific price shown before approval. Haiti pricing is not enabled until the route and current cost are verified.
A service window generally lasts 24 hours after the customer’s last message. Free-form messages require an open window; messages outside it require an approved template. Country and category restrictions still apply. A sending price does not mean a message is permitted.
Approve spending before it happens
Proposed prepaid top-ups: $10, $25 or $50. Automatic top-up is off. Planned usage notices appear at 80% and 100%; additional outbound sending pauses when prepaid funds are insufficient. Pending drafts wait for your review. No delayed bulk send or automatic purchase happens merely because the internet reconnects.
Incoming traffic can still incur network costs after outbound sending pauses. Sender activation must include a disclosed inbound spending reserve and abuse limits. Essential opt-out handling must remain available. These controls and a verified usage ledger must be implemented before billing activates.
What counts as usage
SMS is billed by segment, not by the bubble displayed on a phone. A standard GSM-7 segment usually holds 160 characters; concatenated segments usually hold 153 each. Unicode usually allows 70 characters, or 67 per concatenated segment. Some characters use extra space and routes may differ. The sending preview must show the actual segment estimate, recipients and total price. MMS is not included and needs a separate quote.
Number rental, registration, approved sender setup, special routes and taxes are separate and must be disclosed before activation. Included credits do not cover those fixed costs. A failed or undelivered message may incur a network charge; the billing policy must disclose the event charged and reconcile it to delivery records. Duplicate retries must not create duplicate NovaTek charges.
Opening your own email, SMS or WhatsApp application is an external handoff and does not incur a NovaTek delivery charge. Your own provider’s charges may apply. Drafting an AI message may use your separately disclosed AI allowance.
Credit and cancellation policy — draft
Paid messaging credit is separate from referral or subscription credit. Proposed paid balances have no scheduled expiry while the account remains open; on closure, unused paid credit is returned to the original payment method subject to verified usage, fraud checks and applicable law. Promotional allowances have no cash value. Final purchase disclosures and statutory rights govern; no balance is sold in this preview.
